Terms of Use
QuitOS: Stop Vaping · quitOS LLC · Effective August 25, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and quitOS LLC ("we," "us") for the QuitOS: Stop Vaping app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed, so they are short.
Not medical advice
QuitOS is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a substitute for a doctor, a pharmacist, a therapist, or a cessation program. The recovery timeline, craving tips, taper plan, and AI coach replies are general information based on published cessation research and your own inputs. They are not tailored medical advice.
Talk to a healthcare professional before quitting if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, take medication that nicotine affects, or have a history of serious mental illness. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, stop using the app and contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the United States) or your local emergency number.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. The app is about nicotine and is rated 18+ on the App Store. If you are under 18, do not use it, and if we learn an account belongs to a minor we will delete it.
Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your email address. There is no guest mode and no anonymous account: an email address is always required, because it is how you get back to your data on a new phone. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure. One person per account. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account and data. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Free and Plus
Free includes the craving rescue, daily check-ins, streak and savings tracking, the accountability partner, the 988 and Quitline links, and the body recovery timeline. Free has no time limit and no ads.
QuitOS Plus adds unlimited rescues, the AI coach, trigger insights, personalized recovery projections, and the adaptive taper plan.
Subscription terms
- Product: QuitOS Plus, monthly auto-renewing subscription. One subscription covers the app you bought it in.
- Price: $9.99 USD per month, or the local equivalent shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.
- Free trial: 3 days. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts and Apple charges your account.
- Renewal: Your subscription renews automatically each month at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your Apple ID within 24 hours before each renewal.
- Cancelling: Open the Settings app on your iPhone → your name → Subscriptions → QuitOS Plus → Cancel. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds: Purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's refund policy. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.
- Price changes: If the price goes up, Apple will notify you and ask for consent before the new price applies.
The AI coach
The coach is software, not a person. It can be wrong. It is designed to support you through cravings, not to give medical instructions, and it will always direct you to 988 if you mention self-harm. Do not rely on it for anything a clinician should handle. Conversations are sent to OpenAI to generate replies, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use the app to harass anyone, to attempt to access other people's data, to reverse engineer or interfere with our servers, or for anything illegal. We may suspend or delete accounts that do.
Our content and your content
The app, its design, text, and artwork belong to quitOS LLC. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use it on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's standard App Store terms. The quit plan and history you create are yours; we use them only to run the app for you, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the app up, especially the rescue flow, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service. Features may change or be removed. If a Plus feature you paid for is removed during a paid period, contact us and we will make it right.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, quitOS LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and is not responsible for any claims about the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
